Valentine's Day Toddler & Preschooler Educational Activities and Crafts
One of my goals for 2024 is to do more educational activities and craft more with my kids in anticipation of homeschooling this fall.
Here are 10 solid ideas for preschoolers and toddlers.
Counting Heart Wands: My older kid will do the counting part and my younger kid will just make a full wand (fine motor skills).
2. Heart-shaped Yarn Ornaments - DIY Decor are some of my favorite crafts!
3. Celery Heart Stamps - I’m planning on making a large heart where they stamp inside.
4. Borax Crystal Hearts - Just did it yesterday, oldest loved it! Science experiment plus a cute window decor, yes, please!
5. Caterpillar Counting - I’m going to use dot stickers to make this an easier clean up and for my younger toddler, I plan on just drawing a dashed line.
6. Heart-Shaped Cardboard Stamp - I’m making this into cards for the grandparents and a teaching lesson in mailing letters.
7. Valentine’s Candy Hearts - Found a couple of great ideas: extend the pattern, group the colors, or roll the dice & count.
8. Heart Alphabet Matching - I’m very excited to try this with my preschooler but I think my toddler can get some good letter exposure.
9. Valentine’s Friendship Bracelets - Channeling our inner TSwift for some easy fun I know my daughter is going to love!
10. Watercolor Hearts - I did this last year for Ace’s Valentine’s Day Cards for school. I used a large sheet of paper with white crayon for the heart-shapes. Both kids painted the paper and then, I cut it into little cards, added a message for each goodie bag. This year - my oldest easily could add stickers and write his name if we did it again.
I hope these inspire you to try a couple with your toddler and preschoolers!
